Code of Conduct

Both the attending student and parent must read, agree to, and acknowledge their understanding of guidelines and requirements. By submission of your registration form you acknowledge your agreement to and understanding of the guidelines and requirements.

Regarding the facility:

Students will respect the property, grounds, etc.

Parents will be financially responsible for damage to the property, or grounds, whether accidental or intentional, caused by their student. An example of inappropriate behavior concerning property would be to play with the decorations, candles, etc.

Students are not to run or have disruptive behavior.

Students are expected to respect restricted areas in the building and on the property.

Chewing gum is not permitted.

Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited.

Regarding Relationships:

Words have a power and integrity of their own. Godliness requires each of us to be personally responsible for our thoughts, expressions, and words. Students will refrain from vulgar language, coarse jesting, demeaning comments, put-downs, practical jokes, criticizing, insults, name-calling, etc., whether out of anger or a feeble attempt at humor. In essence, anything that may cause hurt or offense to another guest is not acceptable.

When talking, students will use an appropriate conversational tone and refrain from yelling.

The gentlemen will refrain from rough physical contact with other students such as hitting, punching, tripping, wrestling, etc.

Dress:

Students are encouraged to dress in a modest, tasteful fashion. If you are unsure if something is inappropriate, please do not wear it. Clothing can be a "stumbling block," so please do not choose a dress that might cause offense to another.

Left Behind Series:

Leave behind personal electronic musical devices, electronic games, and any and all weapons.

Breach of Contract:

An adult does not have to personally witness an incident. A report from a student(s) concerning inappropriate conversation or behavior is sufficient. This is considered a breach of conduct and an adult will gently lead the student to a private area away from the event to await his/her parent(s) to pick him/her up.

Liability:

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Dede Bullock, Kim McGorty, Terri Miller, the parent volunteers or other volunteers (collectively the "organizers") who are assisting with the Homeschool Formal 2009, be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, exemplary or consequential damages of any type including but not limited to, physical injuries to an attendee, mental injury to an attendee, financial losses of an attendee, or other claims, whether arising in tort (including negligence), contract or any other legal theory, even if the organizers have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
